I have been a real estate broker of 30+ years in Los Angeles and a student of my profession.

The more choices we have, the more difficult it is to decide. I remember a marketing example, a wrist watch being sold from a magazine ad. The watch was marketed as the best watch ever.

Being the best watch ever made the choice easy. It was the best. You then either picked a gold or silver finish. Simple, one choice.

The lesson? Less choices resulted in more sales. More choices resulted in less sales. Choices are bad. Lots of choices are paralyzing.

Purchasing real estate in Los Angeles is similar. There are few options. You can either buy an overpriced piece of crap, or you a buy an overpriced piece of crap that has some potential.

There is a third choice. However, it has you paying an insane amount to get a home that is just acceptable. That’s it. Those are your choices.

Oh, did I mention, the weather is pretty good. Good weather included with purchase! The job market isn’t bad either.
